On the direction of IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan, Punjab Police operations are underway across the province against the Occupy Mafia

Lahore, December 18, 2021 (PPI-OT):Punjab Inspector General of Police Rao Sardar Ali Khan has said that mafias and their facilitators occupying public and private property should be dealt with iron hands. He said that operations against the Occupy Mafia accused should be intensified in all the districts of the province. Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that RPOs and DPOs should provide all possible support to government agencies in operations against the Occupy Mafia and regular reports on operations against the accused and relinquished lands, territories and properties should be sent regularly. A spokesman of Punjab Police said that the operations of Punjab Police in collaboration with other concerned government departments against the occupation mafia are going on uninterruptedly. Regarding the details of operations carried out against Occupy Mafia this year, he said that 53516 acres, 79721 kanals of public and private lands worth billions of rupees were handed over from across the province during various operations this year. A Punjab Police spokesman further said that 989 cases have also been registered against the accused for occupying public and private property.

Giving details of all regions of the province, he said that 435 acres and 498 kanals of land have been relinquished in Lahore while 120 cases have been registered. Similarly, in Sheikhupura region 6822 acres and 28285 kanals of land were relinquished while 143 cases were registered. In Gujranwala region 503 acres, 18 kanals and 31 marlas of land were relinquished while 151 cases were registered.

In Rawalpindi region, 119 kanals and 19 marlas of land were relinquished while 20 cases were registered. In Sargodha region 3285 acres, 17 kanals and 13 marlas of land were relinquished while 104 cases were registered. In Faisalabad region 25392 acres, 36002 kanals and 7 marlas of land were relinquished while 122 cases were registered.

In Multan region 1373 acres and 9368 kanals of land were relinquished while 69 cases were registered. In Sahiwal region 768 acres and 7.8 kanals of land were relinquished while 59 cases were registered. In DG Khan region 11414 acres and 5505 kanals of land were relinquished while 20 cases were registered. In Bahawalpur region 3624 acres, 11 kanals and 23 marlas of land have been relinquished while 199 cases have been registered.

IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan has directed that operations be expedited in all the districts of the province to eradicate illegal occupation of agricultural, commercial and industrial lands. He said that those occupying the property of citizens especially overseas Pakistanis should be dealt with iron hands. IG Punjab further said that the elements supporting or aiding the land grabbing mafia also do not deserve any concession, such accused should be prosecuted irrespective of their status.
