Lucknow, December 22, 2022 (PPI-OT):In view of mounting pressure from BJP-government, the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Education Board is going to meet next month to change the day of weekly off in madrasas from Friday to Sunday. According to Kashmir Media Service, the Board Chairman, Iftikar Ahmed Javed informed the teachers’ association of madrasas about the development and they opposed the move, saying the change of weekly off from Friday to Sunday would send out a wrong message. A final decision in this regard will be taken in a board meeting in January.

Banglore, December 22 (KMS): In response to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s move to install the portraits of Hindutva ideologue Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in schools, the Indian Congress has said that the Hinduism practised by the Bharatiya Janata Party is a drama. According to Kashmir Media Service, Karnataka Congress unit president D K Shivakumar calling ‘BJP’s Hinduism a drama,’ asserted that the Hinduism practised by him and others in the party was better than that practised by the ruling BJP.
“We all are Hindus, we are born Hindus, and we will die as Hindus. We are performing (practising) Hinduism better than them (BJP). Theirs is a drama said in response to a question about whether the BJP government was trying to bring the Hindutva agenda to the front again. Shivakumar’s remarks come in the backdrop of the unveiling of a life-size portrait of Hindutva ideologue Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in the Assembly chamber at the ‘Suvarna Vidhana Soudha’ here.
Congress criticised the BJP’s move. After unveiling the portrait of Savarakar at Belagavi Suvarna Vidhana Soudha, the BJP is now making preparations to install the Savarakar photos in all schools of the State.
