Islamabad, December 07, 2021 (PPI-OT):Hands in gloves with fascist Rashtriya Swayem Sevak Sangh, Modi’s India is trying to convert the country into a Hindu rashtra, but a quarter of the Hindu population, the Dalit, are not treated as equal citizens and denied access to even high-caste temples.
According to a report released by Kashmir Media Service, India’s Dalit community, also referred to as “the untouchables” have been facing systemic oppression by so-called upper-caste Hindus since ages.
The Hindu caste-and culture code prevents high-caste Hindu to intermingle with the Dalit on equal terms. Dalit is supposed not to wear footwear in certain villages, ride a bicycle, or a horse, not to march his marriage procession in front of high-caste Hindu, and even dare worship in a high-caste temple.
A cursory look at oppression of the Dalit during the past few years confirms that the Dalit are treated as worse than animals in the Hindu society. The law enforcement agencies including police and judiciary always support the high-caste culprits if a first information report is registered.
Four states account for nearly half of the India’s Dalit population, reveals the 2011 census. Uttar Pradesh stands first with 20.5% of the total scheduled caste (SC) population, while Dalits form around 16.6% of India’s population.
Despite being around 17 per cent of India’s total population, Dalits live in a constant fear of being publicly humiliated, beaten and raped with impunity by upper-caste Hindus. Dalit women are the most oppressed in the world. Modi’s India has nothing to offer expect rape and hunger to Dalit women.
Recently, Dalit girl was kidnapped and raped for resisting prostitution in Kosi Kalan area of Mathura in UP. Dalit women are often raped because upper-caste Hindus think they have the right to rape them. After being raped, Dalit women often face threats to withdraw complaints. On average 3 Dalit women are raped and 2 are murdered every day in India. Assaults carried out against Dalit girls are often ignored by police and media in India.
As per KMS report, India is the most dangerous country in the world for women because of the high risk of sexual violence while its capital city Delhi has attained notoriety as having become the rape capital of the world.
