Omar Abdullah Vows to Fight for Restoring Democratic Rights in IIOJK

Srinagar, Omar Abdullah, Vice President of the National Conference, has reaffirmed the party’s commitment to restoring the democratic rights of the people in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). He made these remarks while addressing a party workers’ convention in the Tral area of Pulwama district.

According to Kashmir Media Service, during his speech, Abdullah clarified his intentions to fight for the people of Kashmir and stated that he had no aspirations for any office. He questioned the development and employment opportunities promised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following the revocation of Article 370 in the region.

Abdullah criticized the BJP-led government for failing to deliver on its promises, accusing it of pushing the people of Kashmir into despair and hopelessness. He highlighted the challenges faced by various communities, including the Gujjar community, which he said is being denied forest rights. He also pointed out the lack of basic utilities and administrative deficiencies affecting the region. The difficulties in accessing redressal mechanisms for the people’s grievances were also a key concern raised by Abdullah.

The National Conference Vice President’s address reflects the ongoing political and social issues in IIOJK and the party’s stance in advocating for the rights and welfare of its people.
