Srinagar, October 19, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference vice president, Omar Abdullah, has said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its cronies are importing voters to win elections in the territory. Omar Abdullah was presiding over a meeting of party functionaries that discussed present political scenario and the challenges faced by the horticulture sector in IIOJK.
Omar Abdullah asked the functionaries to reach out to the people. He said, our party members have an added responsibility to give every single person in the territory an understanding of the machinations of the BJP and its local A and B teams. The powers that are pitted against NC are so insecure about the support from genuine voters that they have to import temporary voters to win seats, he said. The NC leader maintained that even the last man residing in the upper reaches of Sopore and elsewhere has to be told how BJP and its cronies are trying to bring in demographic and cultural changes in IIOJK by bringing imported voters.
During the meeting, the functionaries said the Horticulture sector, which is facing transportation crisis, low pricing, other allied issues is in desperate need of help to save the livelihood of lakhs of people who are directly and indirectly part of this industry. They also expressed concern over the absence of adequate measures by the authorities to ensure hassle free movement of fruit laden trucks on Srinagar-Jammu highway.
