Srinagar, September 04, 2023 (PPI-OT): National Conference Vice-President Omar Abdullah has said that there is no question of joining hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party while maintaining that alliance with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will be decided only with time.

Omar Abdullah in a media interview without naming anyone said, “Those spreading and starting this narrative that the National Conference is going to join BJP for power are those who are hand in glove with them (BJP). First, they need to answer why they are/were with the BJP enjoying the privileges and benefits.” If the NC had to, it would have aligned with BJP in 2018, he added.

Commenting on the post abrogation status, he said that there certainly was peace on the ground in Jammu Kashmir, however, it didn’t reflect the reality.

Commenting on the press freedom in Kashmir, he said, “No newspaper prints anything that is critical of the government and what is printed is simply a reproduction of official press releases.”
