Islamabad: In a significant announcement, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar revealed that Olympic javelin throw champion Arshad Nadeem will join Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the national flag hoisting at Islamabad’s central Independence Day ceremony. This event is set to take place tomorrow, spotlighting Nadeem’s heroic achievements.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the ministry has also been directed to produce a biopic on Arshad Nadeem to inspire the youth with his story of perseverance and dedication. The minister outlined several initiatives during a news conference, including the introduction of a new e-visa policy effective from midnight. This policy will exempt citizens from 126 countries from visa fees and simplify the visa application process to a ten-minute online formality, with visas being issued instantly via mobile.
Further details included the organization of major events and musical evenings nationwide to celebrate Independence Day, with a grand event featuring a musical concert and a drone show at Islamabad’s F-9 Park. The drone show will feature five hundred drones creating a portrait of Quaid-e-Azam, Pakistan’s national flag, and other significant symbols. Tarar emphasized that the event would be apolitical and open to the public, highlighting the inclusivity and celebratory nature of the occasion.
