Islamabad: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has reaffirmed its support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) in their pursuit of self-determination. The group has called for the reversal of actions taken on August 5, 2019, which it claims were intended to alter the region’s demographic composition.
According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the OIC’s General Secretariat highlighted its ongoing concern over the situation in the disputed territory. The organization reiterated its appeal to the international community to increase efforts to address the Jammu and Kashmir conflict, emphasizing alignment with United Nations Security Council resolutions.
The statement also referenced prior decisions and resolutions made during the Islamic Summit and the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers. These resolutions consistently underscore the need for a peaceful resolution to the dispute, advocating for steps that respect the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
