Islamabad, 12 Oct 2023:Today’s meeting between H.E. Yousef M. Al Dobeay, OIC Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Jammu and Kashmir, and the Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan conveyed the OIC’s unyielding support toward the Kashmir cause, according to a press release by PID. During the session, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the OIC’s consistent efforts, especially post-India’s unilateral actions in August 2019, while emphasizing that the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute stands pivotal for peace in the turbulent South Asian region.

The Prime Minister underscored the crucial role of the OIC and Ummah in supporting the self-determination aspirations of the people of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, whilst also highlighting concerns over escalating global Islamophobia, particularly in the shape of Hindutva, deeming it a severe threat to international peace and security. Ambassador Yousef M. Al Dobeay reassured Pakistan of the OIC’s principled stance on the Kashmir dispute and articulated that his visit, including to Azad Jammu and Kashmir, signifies the OIC’s profound commitment to the cause.
