Muzaffarabad, 13 Oct 2023: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has affirmed its support for the Kashmir cause, explicitly endorsing Pakistan’s stance, which is fundamentally anchored in United Nations resolutions. The commitment was communicated by the OIC Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Jammu and Kashmir, Ambassador Yousef Muhammed Saleh Aldobey, during his visit to the Chakothi area along the Line of Control (LoC) and Muzaffarabad, as reported by Kashmir Media Service.
Aldobey, leading a high-level delegation from Muslim countries, including Saudi Arabia and Sudan, visited various locations and interacted with victims of Indian ceasefire violations. The delegation was briefed on the prevailing situation along the LoC and, during the visit, the envoy expressed a wish to visit Kashmir twice annually. In Muzaffarabad, the delegation paid their respects by laying a floral wreath at the Jammu and Kashmir Monument.
Moreover, the delegation ventured to Mankpiyan Refugees Camp Muzaffarabad, where they were informed about the comprehensive measures undertaken for the socio-economic wellbeing of inhabitants who have fled from Indian infractions in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Concluding the visit, the delegation met Senior Minister Colonel (retired) Waqar Ahmed Noor, representing the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, and held meetings with representatives from an assortment of political parties and members of the civil society. Expressing gratitude towards the Government of Pakistan, the delegation acknowledged the provision to visit the Line of Control and Azad Kashmir, thereby acquiring a firsthand experience of the situation along the LoC.
