Islamabad: At the opening of a three-day conference on the Water-Energy-Food Ecosystem Nexus, Chairman Senate Yousuf Raza Gillani called on member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to strengthen collaboration to tackle common challenges. The conference aims to harness science and technology for social justice and economic empowerment amid growing pressures of population growth, urbanization, and environmental degradation.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in his address in Islamabad, Gillani underscored the critical need for OIC countries to share expertise, resources, and scientific innovations. This collaboration is seen as essential to building collective resilience and securing vital resources for future generations. He emphasized the importance of safeguarding water, food, and energy resources as fundamental to the future security and prosperity of the OIC nations.
