OIC chief to arrive in Pakistan on three-day visit

Islamabad, December 10, 2022 (PPI-OT):Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hissein Brahim Taha, along with a delegation, is arriving in Pakistan, today, on a three-day visit. According to Kashmir Media Service, the OIC chief is visiting Pakistan at the invitation of Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. This is Hissein Brahim Taha’s first visit to the country since assuming office in November 2021.

During the visit, the OIC Secretary General will call on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and hold a delegation-level meeting with the foreign minister. He will also meet with the Minister of Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan Affairs, on others. He will also visit Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The Foreign Office said during bilateral talks, the OIC Secretary General and the Foreign Minister would discuss issues on the agenda of OIC, including the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

It is to mention here that The OIC, which is the second largest organization of the world after the UN, with a membership of 57 states has always raised voice against the Indian atrocities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and supported the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination as per the UN resolutions. The OIC during the 48th session of its Council of Foreign Ministers held in Islamabad on 22-23rd March, this year, had adopted a joint action plan on the Kashmir dispute. Under this plan, the OIC countries agreed to raise the Kashmir issue in their bilateral engagements with India and underscore respect for the fundamental human rights of the Kashmiri people, as well as lend support to monitor human rights violations in the IIOJK.
