OGRA Announces Reduction in Petroleum Product Prices Amid International Market Shifts

Islamabad: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a reduction in the prices of petroleum products effective from September 16, 2024, reflecting changes in the international market. This adjustment will see prices for petrol, diesel, and other fuels decrease, providing some relief to consumers amidst fluctuating global oil prices.

According to Press Information Department, the new pricing structure set by OGRA includes a decrease of Rs. 10.00 per liter for Motor Spirit (petrol), bringing it down to Rs. 249.10. High Speed Diesel (HSD) sees a reduction of Rs. 13.06 per liter, now priced at Rs. 249.69. Kerosene (SKO) and Light Diesel Oil are also seeing significant price cuts of Rs. 11.15 and Rs. 12.12 per liter, respectively.

This price revision comes as part of OGRA’s routine bi-weekly review process, which aligns local fuel prices with international market trends. The authority’s decision is expected to influence a range of economic sectors, potentially easing inflationary pressures on transportation and goods production costs across Pakistan.
