OGRA Announces Increase in LPG Prices for September 2024

Islamabad: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has set new liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices for September 2024, marking a noticeable increase from the previous month. This adjustment reflects changes in global market rates and currency fluctuations.

According to Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority, the notified LPG producer price for September will be Rs. 202,691.77 per ton, which translates to Rs. 2,391.76 for an 11.8 kg cylinder. This represents an increase of Rs. 6,995.46 per ton, or Rs. 82.54 per cylinder compared to August 2024. Similarly, consumer prices have been adjusted to Rs. 243,991.77 per ton or Rs. 2,879.10 per cylinder, maintaining the same increase margin.

The price adjustments are directly linked to the Saudi Aramco Contract Price (CP) and fluctuations in the US dollar exchange rate. OGRA noted that the Saudi Aramco-CP saw a rise of 3.63% over the last month, while the US dollar exchange rate increased by 0.046%. These changes have collectively contributed to a 2.95% rise in the consumer price of LPG, amounting to an additional Rs. 6.99 per kilogram.

The detailed pricing notification for September 2024 is available on OGRA’s official website, providing stakeholders and consumers with accessible information to manage their energy costs effectively.
