Srinagar, The Indian occupation authorities prevented the holding of a religious conference, “Seerat-ul-Nabi and Ittehad-e-Ummah,” in the Shopian district, blocking several religious and social leaders, including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, from participating.
According to Kashmir Media Service reported that the conference, organized by Karwan-e-Khatm Nabuwat International, faced strict prohibition from the administration, preventing key figures such as Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, a senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, and other notable personalities from attending.
The occupation regime’s decision to disallow the conference was met with strong condemnation by the organizers, who issued a statement denouncing the restriction as another example of the suppression of religious and social gatherings in the region. The conference was intended to address significant topics pertaining to the Islamic community and foster unity among Muslims in the occupied territory.
The denial of permission for this conference underscores the ongoing restrictions imposed by the Indian authorities on gatherings and the expression of collective religious and cultural identities in Jammu and Kashmir.
