New Delhi, June 27, 2022 (PPI-OT):In view of facing humiliating defeat at the hands of Chinese troops particularly in Ladakh, Indian Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari has said that New Delhi “should comprehend the situation along its unsettled western and northern borders as a two-front contingency and prepare for it accordingly”.
VR Chaudhari was referring to another such future embarrassment from Beijing in the Ladakh region and in states bordering China, but in order to hide humiliation he mentioned a sort of ‘two-front’ challenge dragging Pakistan as an ally of China in the IAF chief’s so-called threat.
In a media interview, the Indian Chief of Air Staff claimed India could be attacked on all fronts, starting from military standoffs to information manipulation and blackouts in the future.
To a specific question on whether Russian invasion in Ukraine could encourage China to take more aggressive posturing along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), he said the effect of global events and geopolitical developments on India’s engagement with Beijing are being assessed continually across wide-ranging domains “at all levels”. “As a nation, we need to identify our immediate and future threats accurately so that necessary capability responses can be developed to counter them,” the feared air chief said.
