Lahore: The National Transmission and Despatch Company Limited (NTDC) celebrated Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day with a series of flag hoisting ceremonies across its grid stations, with the main event held at the TSG Training Center in New Kot Lakhpat, Lahore. The celebrations were marked by patriotic displays and reflections on the nation’s history.
According to National Transmission and Despatch Company announcement issued on 14 August 2024, Deputy Managing Director (AD and M) Engr. Rasheed A. Bhutto, along with Deputy Managing Director (SO) Engr. Muhammad Waseem Younas and other senior managers, led the festivities. The ceremony featured a march-past and salutes from the NTDC Security Directorate, highlighting the solemn respect and enthusiasm for the occasion.
During the event, speeches were made emphasizing the enduring legacy of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the continued commitment to his vision. General Manager (Technical) Engr. Dr. Khwaja Riffat Hassan spoke to the younger generation’s role in driving Pakistan’s progress forward.
The event also included cultural presentations by children of NTDC employees, who performed national songs and delivered speeches expressing their national pride. In a symbolic gesture underscoring the commitment to environmental sustainability, the Chief Guest planted a tree at the TSG Training Center.
The celebration was well attended by various NTDC officials, including General Manager TSG Engr. Ashar Ali and General Manager Media and PR Muhammad Ibrahim, alongside chief engineers, female officers, and other staff members.
