Lahore: The National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) conducted a one-day awareness workshop on Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) modernization at a local hotel. The workshop, organized by NTDC’s Learning and Development Directorate, aimed to educate the management and senior officers about the strategic importance, benefits, and challenges of the modernization efforts.
According to National Transmission and Despatch Company, the workshop featured opening remarks from Deputy Managing Director (AD and M) Rasheed A. Bhutto, who stressed the need for digitalization and committed to fulfilling all necessary requirements for ERP implementation. Deputy Managing Director (P and E) Engr. Qaiser Khan praised the HR department for facilitating the interactive session and emphasized the importance of meeting project deadlines.
General Manager (Human Resource) Engr. Sohail Mumtaz Bajwa, General Manager (Technical) Engr. Dr. Khawaja Riffat Hassan, and Chief Financial Officer NTDC Mr. Waseem Sadaat also spoke on the significance of ICT modernization and ERP implementation within NTDC. Chief Information Officer Khalid Mehmood provided an overview of the program’s achievements, including the interconnection of 130 NTDC sites.
The event also featured presentations from representatives of both foreign and local companies such as Siemens, System Limited, CMC, and PTCL, who outlined the roadmap and current progress of the ICT and ERP systems. A question-and-answer session concluded the workshop, with active participation from NTDC officers including General Managers, Chief Engineers, C-Suite Officers, selected change champions, and other senior staff.
