Islamabad, October 29, 2021 (PPI-OT):The National Security Committee at its meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad today decided to ensure writ of the state and maintain law and order at all costs. This was stated by Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, while briefing the media persons in Islamabad this afternoon, about the NSC meeting, which met to review the situation arising out of closure of roads by the proscribed Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan.
He said that talks with the banned organization have so far remained inconclusive, but there is a possibility of more talks today. He said the government believes in defusing the situation peacefully. He said Rangers have been given powers under Anti-Terrorism Act to assist the civil administration in Punjab. He said Rangers will under the Punjab Government. Sheikh Rashid said Prime Minister Imran Khan will also take the nation into confidence over the matter.
