Notorious Gang Impersonating Government Officials Busted in Islamabad

Islamabad: A three-member gang, previously convicted and known for impersonating government officials, has been apprehended by the police. During the operation, authorities recovered looted cash, official uniforms, various equipment, and weapons with ammunition from the suspects. A case has been registered, and investigations are ongoing.

Under the directives of Deputy Inspector General of Police Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, the Islamabad Police have been actively working to maintain law and order in the federal capital and to eliminate crime.

The Sambal Police team, employing modern technical tools and human intelligence, successfully arrested the three accused, identified as Kashif, Haider, and Shehbaz. These individuals were part of a gang that had previously been convicted.

The police team also recovered stolen cash, official uniforms, handcuffs, and weapons with ammunition from the suspects. A case has been registered against them, and further investigations are underway.

DIG Islamabad emphasized that the Islamabad Police are committed to making the federal capital a city of peace and are continuously striving to protect the lives and property of its citizens.

He also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to their local police station or by calling the emergency helpline, Pucar-15, to collectively work towards eradicating crime from the city.
