Islamabad, December 13, 2021 (PPI-OT): Extrajudicial killing of Kashmiri people by Indian troops and police personnel continue unabated in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. A report released by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, today, said that none of the 30 basic human rights enlisted in the UN international document, Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), exists in IIOJK due to the presence of brutal footprints of over one million Indian troops in the territory.
The Indian forces have been violating the UDHR for the past 74 years in the occupied territory. The troops are mercilessly killing, arresting, torturing and humiliating innocent Kashmiris of every age and gender for demanding right to self-determination.
The report pointed out that Indian troops have martyred 95,925 innocent Kashmiris including 7,216 in custody since January 1989 till date. It said that these killings rendered 22,939 women widowed and 107,855 children orphaned. The report added that the troops molested or disgraced 11,246 women and damaged 110,445 residential houses and other structures. It maintained that the troops subjected over 8,000 people to custodial disappearance in the period.
Since January 2021 till date, the report said, 188 Kashmiris including top APHC leader Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai and five women have been martyred by the troops in the territory. It said that most of the victims were killed were killed in custody or fake encounters.
The Indian forces including notorious National Investigation Agency arrested over 2600 persons including political activists, youth, human rights activists like Khurrum Parvaiz, journalists under different black laws during house raids during the current year, the report said. The reported cited unbridled powers enjoyed by Indian armed forces under Armed Forces Special Powers Acts (AFSPA) and other draconian laws as the main reason behind mass crimes in the occupied territory.
