Non-Local Resident Killed, Another Injured in Srinagar Shooting

Srinagar , In a violent attack in Srinagar, the capital city of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, one non-local resident was killed and another was seriously injured. The incident occurred in the Shaheed Gunj area of Srinagar on Thursday evening.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the deceased, identified as Amritpal Singh, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Rohit Mashi, who was injured in the attack, suffered a bullet wound to the abdomen. Both individuals are reported to be from the state of Punjab in India. Following the attack, Mashi was transported to SMHS hospital in Srinagar, where he is said to be in critical condition.

In response to the shooting, Indian security forces have initiated a search operation in the area to locate and apprehend the assailants responsible for this act of violence.

The attack adds to the ongoing tensions in the region, which has seen a spate of violence targeting both locals and non-locals in recent months. Authorities are conducting investigations to determine the motive behind the attack and to bring those responsible to justice.
