Srinagar: An elderly couple in Srinagar, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, was assaulted by a non-local man in an attempted robbery, stirring alarm in the community.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the attacker, from Uttar Pradesh, India, entered the residence of Ghulam Rasool Khan in the Hazratbal area. The woman suffered injuries to her throat and wrists from a sharp object during the attack. Khan confronted the intruder and alerted neighbors, who apprehended the suspect outside the home.
Khan stated that his wife was assaulted in the kitchen, resulting in blood on the floor. She was taken to SKIMS hospital for treatment. A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed under case number 175 at the local police station.
The incident has raised concerns among residents about the involvement of non-locals in criminal activities in the area.
