Islamabad, The process of scrutinizing nomination papers for candidates in the upcoming general elections is set to conclude today, marking a crucial step in the election preparation.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, this scrutiny phase is a vital part of the electoral process, ensuring the eligibility and compliance of candidates ahead of the polls. Following the completion of this phase, appeals against the acceptance or rejection of nomination papers can be filed until the third of next month. Decisions on these appeals are scheduled to be finalized by the tenth of next month.
The preliminary list of candidates will be made public on January 11, providing transparency and allowing for any necessary adjustments. Candidates have until January 12 to withdraw their nomination papers if they choose to do so. On January 13, electoral symbols will be assigned to the candidates.
The culmination of these preparatory steps will lead to the general elections, set to be held on February 8, a significant event in the democratic process of the country.
