Islamabad, Dr. Kausar Abdullah Malik, the Caretaker Minister for National Food Security and Research, has assured the nation that there is no wheat shortage in Pakistan. His statement came during his address at the National Kissan Convention held in Islamabad.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Malik emphasized Pakistan’s capability to export essential food items like wheat and rice in the near future. He highlighted that the government is actively working to enhance wheat productivity and minimize the productivity gap in the sector.
The Minister underscored the pivotal role of agriculture in the nation’s economy, stating that all obstacles hindering agricultural progress would be addressed as a priority. He expressed confidence in Pakistan’s potential to become an agriculture surplus country by leveraging its production capacities.
Dr. Malik also reassured farmers that comprehensive efforts are underway to facilitate and support them. His remarks come as a significant reassurance to both farmers and consumers, amidst concerns over food security and agricultural output in the country.
