Lahore, January 11, 2023 (PPI-OT):An important meeting was held in the Department of Specialized Health Care and Medical Education under the chairmanship of Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid, in which Punjab Health Secretary Dr. Ahmed Javed Qazi, Special Secretary Syed Wajid Ali Shah, Additional Secretary Procurement Khalid Parvez, Additional Secretary Technical Dr. Hafiz Shahid Latif, Additional Secretary Technical of the Department of Primary and Secondary Health Care Dr Younus, DG Drugs Control Dr. Sohail, Chief Drugs Dr. Azhar Salimi and other officers participated.
Provincial Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid reviewed the stock and further supply of medicines in the government teaching hospitals of Punjab during the meeting. Health Dr. Yasmin Rashid had a detailed briefing from concerned officers. Provincial Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that during the meeting, we reviewed the stock of medicines in all the government teaching hospitals of Punjab. There is no shortage of medicines in any teaching hospital across the province.
The stock is being monitored through an online portal. The Department of Specialized Health Care and Medical Education will conduct an audit of the stock of medicines in all the teaching hospitals of the province. The details of the stock of medicines in all the government hospitals of Punjab have been sought this week.
Due to the incompetence of the federal government, there has been a shortage in medicines in the market. All the MS of the government hospitals should ensure the stock of all the medicines used in the treatment of patients. The stock of medicines will not be short in teaching hospitals. The provincial health minister has instructed all government hospitals of Punjab to purchase medicines in time.
