Srinagar, July 06, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, former Indian minister, Yashwant Sinha, has said that there is no need for the delimitation exercise and instead the Indian government should focus on more important issues concerning the territory.
A delegation of the Concerned Citizens’ Group (CCG) led by Yashwant Sinha is in IIOJK. Apart from Sinha, the group includes Air vice Marshal (Retd) Kapil Kak and Sushobha Barve (Executive Secretary of Centre for Dialogue and Reconciliation). Yashwant Sinha in an interview in Srinagar said the purpose of meeting Kashmir’s political, social, and other parties again is to hear the voice of the people of the territory and to make others outside Kashmir aware of the hardships and difficulties that Kashmiris are going through at the moment.
When asked about the delimitation process, the former BJP leader said that given the current situation in IIOJK, the Indian government should have focused on other important issues in the territory instead of starting the delimitation exercise. The CCG is in the Valley at a time when the India-appointed Delimitation Commission is also visiting IIOJK and meeting different political delegations in the territory.
