Nine Dead and Dozens Injured in Pakistan Due to Severe Weather

Bannu: Over the past 24 hours, severe weather conditions have resulted in the deaths of nine individuals and left more than 42 injured across the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab provinces.

According to Relief Web, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported that six fatalities occurred in Bannu district, where over 40 people sustained injuries due to rain-related incidents. Several of the injured remain in critical condition. In the Punjab province, three deaths and two injuries were reported in the Lahore and Bahawalpur districts.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued warnings of heavy rains, strong winds, thunderstorms, and lightning affecting various parts of the country. The department highlighted the risk of flash flooding in Zhob, Musakhel, Sibi, Kohlu, Barkhan, Naseerabad, and Loralai in Baluchistan. Additionally, there is a possibility of local streams overflowing in the upper and central regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa until March 31.
