ISLAMABAD: In a coordinated effort by Islamabad Police, nine members of a notorious criminal gang have been apprehended, putting an end to their involvement in numerous illicit activities around the city. The operation, conducted by teams from Humak, Golra, and Karachi Company police stations, led to the recovery of stolen valuables and firearms with ammunition.
The individuals taken into custody were identified as Ali, Essa, Awais, Tanveer, Irfan, Waheed, Sheraz, Qamar Abbas, and Jaberan Jalal. These arrests mark a significant step in curbing the criminal activities that have been affecting various neighborhoods.
Police were successful in recovering several stolen items, including motorbikes and mobile phones, alongside weapons and ammunition found in the gang’s possession. Legal cases have been registered against those apprehended, and investigations are ongoing to uncover further details of their operations.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Islamabad has issued directives for an intensified crackdown on those involved in criminal activities. The DIG emphasized the importance of measures to safeguard citizens’ lives and properties, assuring that no criminal elements will be tolerated.
The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities or individuals to authorities through the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline, as part of ongoing efforts to maintain public safety and peace.
