NIA Arrests Kashmiri Youth in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, The National Investigation Agency (NIA) of India has reportedly arrested a Kashmiri youth, Zakir Hussain, in the Kathua district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the Kashmir Media Service, Hussain was apprehended today in connection with a case registered by the NIA on July 30, 2022. The agency, which has faced scrutiny for its operations in the region, has previously arrested seven other individuals in relation to the same case.

Among the seven previously arrested, one individual reportedly died due to a cardiac arrest while in jail. The circumstances of the arrest and the allegations against Hussain have raised concerns, as the NIA continues its operations in the conflict-ridden region of Jammu and Kashmir.

This latest arrest by the NIA adds to the ongoing tensions in the region, where the agency’s activities are often viewed with suspicion and apprehension by the local population.
