NHA Offers Free M-Tag Registration Ahead of New Motorway Regulations

Islamabad: The National Highway Authority (NHA) today declared a temporary waiver of fees for the M-Tag facility, effective immediately until August 15, 2024. This move precedes a new mandate requiring all motorway vehicles to be equipped with M-Tags, starting with the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway (M-11) on August 16, 2024.

According to Press Information Department, the NHA encourages motorists to secure their M-Tags at no cost during this promotional period. The forthcoming requirement aims to streamline motorway travel by making M-Tags mandatory, which will facilitate quicker, more cost-effective trips and enhance transparency in toll transactions. The authority has provided several convenient methods for recharging M-Tags, including customer service centers, drive-through booths, and digital payments.
