NGC Marks Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day with Flag Hoisting Ceremonies Nationwide


Lahore: The National Grid Company of Pakistan (NGC) commemorated Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day with flag hoisting ceremonies conducted simultaneously across all its installations and field offices nationwide, underscoring a spirit of unity and patriotism.



The central ceremony was held at the TSG Training Centre in New Kot Lakhpat, Lahore, where Managing Director Engr. Muhammad Shahid Nazir led the event as the chief guest. He was joined by Deputy Managing Directors and General Managers, with Chairman of the Board of Directors Dr. Fiaz Ahmad Chaudhry participating virtually from Canada.



In his address, Dr. Chaudhry paid tribute to those who sacrificed for the country’s independence, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing national interests. He urged citizens to learn from past experiences to foster peace and unity, calling for a renewed commitment to the principles that led to the nation’s founding.



Engr. Shahid Nazir highlighted Independence Day as a moment to rededicate to the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, grounded in Unity, Faith, and Discipline. He praised the Pakistan Armed Forces for their efforts during Operation Bunyan Marsoos and stressed the significance of collective efforts in advancing national development.



Deputy Managing Director Engr. Dr. Khawaja Riffat Hassan reaffirmed the company’s commitment to progress. The event included a ceremonial march-past by NGC Security Directorate personnel and cultural performances by children of NGC employees, celebrating national pride.



The ceremony also recognized exceptional contributions by NGC staff, presenting awards for outstanding service. The event drew significant attendance from senior leadership and staff across the organization.
