Islamabad, The newly elected members of the Punjab Assembly were sworn in during a ceremony held in Lahore today, marking a significant step towards the formation of the provincial government. Speaker Sibtain Khan administered the oath, setting the stage for the upcoming selection of the Chief Minister.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Speaker congratulated the new members on their election and expressed his hope that they would meet the expectations of the populace. In the race for the Chief Minister’s office, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has nominated Maryam Nawaz as its candidate, while Mian Aslam Iqbal has emerged as the candidate supported by independent members, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and the Sunni Itehad Council.
