New Incidents of Skirmishes Between Indian and Chinese Troops in Ladakh Revealed

New Delhi, Recently, two previously undisclosed skirmishes between Indian and Chinese troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh have emerged, following the Indian Army’s efforts to bolster the low morale of its soldiers.

According to Kashmir Media Service, these clashes were brought to light when the Indian Army awarded gallantry honors to its personnel, citing these specific incidents. During a Western Command ceremony on January 13, brief details were disclosed about how Indian troops countered aggressive actions by the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China along the LAC. The Western Command, headquartered in Chandimandir Cantonment, Haryana, had initially uploaded a video of the ceremony on its YouTube channel but later deactivated it. The incidents mentioned occurred between September 2021 and November 2022. The Indian Army has not commented on these developments.

Tensions between India and China at the LAC have persisted since June 16, 2020, after a deadly clash in the Gawlan Valley of Ladakh resulted in the death of 20 Indian soldiers and injuries to over 70 others. Since then, several skirmishes have been reported along the LAC. Additionally, another clash in the Yangtse area of the Tawang Sector on December 9, 2022, resulted in gallantry awards for several Indian Army personnel involved. The Modi government faces criticism from the opposition for allegedly conceding significant territory to China after the Galwan clash.
