Hub-Karachi: Federal Ministers Abdul Aleem Khan and Jam Kamal Khan inaugurated the new Hub River Bridge on N-25, a vital link between Balochistan and Sindh provinces, which was completed at a cost of 1.18 billion rupees. The bridge, finished in two years, is part of broader efforts to improve infrastructure and connectivity within the region.
According to Press Information Department, during the inauguration ceremony, Federal Minister for Communications, Board of Investment and Privatization Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized the importance of infrastructure development for regional growth. He announced plans for further infrastructure projects, including another bridge alongside the current Hub Bridge and the expansion of highway N-25 into a dual carriageway to reduce traffic accidents. Aleem Khan also discussed strategies to increase revenue collection from tolls in Balochistan, despite it hosting the longest stretch of the National Highway Authority network at 4,500 km.
Additionally, the ministers reviewed ongoing projects and future plans for the National Highway Authority in Sindh, discussing financial strategies and project management with local officials. During his visit to Karachi, Minister Aleem Khan met with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah to discuss provincial highway and communication sector issues. The visit also included a condolence stop at the residence of MNA Rana Ansar to offer sympathies for the loss of her son, enhancing the minister’s engagements in the region.
