Islamabad, March 10, 2023 (PPI-OT): The government has been pursuing a national strategy for energy efficiency and conservation to save 140 billion rupees annually and ensure sustainable economic growth of the country. The National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority has initiated a national campaign to create awareness among masses on energy conservation.

Religious leaders, youth, students and teachers have been urged to play their role for convincing people to adopt efficient tools and methods to save energy. In Pakistan, over 67 per cent of the domestic electricity is consumed by fans and lighting that are inefficient and do not comply with modern energy efficiency standards.
