NDMA Takes Over as INSARAG Regional Chair for Asia Pacific in 2024


Islamabad, The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) of Pakistan has officially taken over the role of Regional Chair Asia Pacific for 2024 of the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG). This significant transition was marked by a formal handover ceremony from New Zealand to Pakistan.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the handover ceremony signifies a notable achievement for the NDMA, positioning Pakistan at the forefront of regional efforts in urban search and rescue operations. INSARAG, a United Nations global network, plays a crucial role in enhancing international coordination in this field. The NDMA, in its new capacity, aims to adopt a proactive and collaborative strategy to address the evolving challenges of disaster response more effectively. This leadership role underscores Pakistan’s commitment and capability in contributing to global disaster management and rescue operations.
