NDMA Seminar Spotlights Pakistan’s Efforts for Disaster Resilience


Islamabad, The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) hosted a seminar titled “Disaster Resilient Pakistan” at the National University of Technology (NUTECH), Islamabad, focusing on enhancing national capabilities, preparedness, and adaptive measures against disasters. The event featured discussions on climate resilience and emergency preparedness among experts, policymakers, and stakeholders across various sectors, showcasing Pakistan’s commitment to meeting international disaster management standards.



According to Press Information Department, the seminar included the launch of significant publications on disaster management and the briefing of NDMA’s initiatives like the Mobile NEOC app and a new YouTube channel. Speakers emphasized the importance of a collective approach to disaster management and discussed strategies for adopting a national anticipatory stance. The event concluded with remarks from the Rector of NUTECH, Lt General (R) Moazzam Ejaz, and an overview by NDMA Chairman Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik of the new National Emergencies Operation Center, equipped with advanced digital risk assessment tools.
