ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), in collaboration with various stakeholders, has successfully conducted a two-day workshop aimed at implementing a digital E-Checklist to enhance the Pakistan School Safety Framework (PSSF). The workshop, held at the NDMA Auditorium in Islamabad, brought together educationists, disaster management experts, and representatives from the Ministry of Education, UNICEF, and the British Council.

According to a statement by National Disaster Management Authority, the PSSF was developed to create safer learning environments and bolster the preparedness of schools against potential hazards such as natural disasters and other emergencies. The newly introduced digital E-Checklist is designed to streamline school safety assessments and strengthen disaster resilience at an institutional level.

The workshop provided participants with a detailed orientation on the E-Checklist’s functionality and its application for evaluating school safety standards. Experts emphasized that the digitized tool would enable systematic assessments, data-driven decision-making, and improved coordination for disaster preparedness in schools.

The event concluded with a commitment from NDMA to continue advancing school safety and disaster resilience in cooperation with relevant stakeholders. Participants praised the initiative, recognizing its potential to significantly improve preparedness and emergency response mechanisms in schools across the nation.
