Islamabad: In a significant humanitarian initiative, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has dispatched its thirteenth aid consignment to the war-affected residents of Gaza. This latest shipment, containing one hundred tons of winterized tents and blankets, was sent from Islamabad to Amman, Jordan, as part of ongoing relief efforts.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the consignment was airlifted on 26 Oct 2024 from Islamabad International Airport during a ceremony attended by notable figures including Barrister Aqeel Malik, Advisor on Legal Affairs, Palestinian Ambassador to Pakistan Zuhair M. H. Darzaid, and representatives from the NDMA, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Armed Forces of Pakistan. This marks a continued effort by Pakistan to provide support to Gaza amidst ongoing conflicts.
To date, Pakistan has sent a total of thirteen hundred eighty-one tons of relief items to the people of Gaza and Lebanon. The Palestinian Ambassador expressed profound gratitude for Pakistan’s steadfast support and generous humanitarian efforts. He highlighted the solidarity shown by Pakistan as a symbol of hope and a reflection of the strong bond between the two nations.
Ambassador Darzaid emphasized that the aid from Pakistan serves not only as essential support but also conveys a powerful message of compassion and unity during these challenging times.
