NDMA Coordinates National Effort to Aid Gaza and Lebanon


Islamabad: Under the guidance of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) hosted a National Conference on Humanitarian Response for Gaza and Lebanon. The session, aimed at mobilizing support and coordinating relief efforts, took place at the NDMA Headquarters in the National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC).



According to Press Information Department, the conference, chaired by Federal Minister for Planning and Special Initiatives Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, saw the participation of federal secretaries and representatives from media, NGOs, and international NGOs. The minister stressed the critical humanitarian needs in Gaza and Lebanon and announced the creation of the “Prime Minister Relief Fund for Gaza and Lebanon” to facilitate aid efforts. He detailed the government’s ongoing commitment to the crisis regions, including the dispatch of 11 relief consignments over the past year.



The chairman of the NDMA provided an overview of the aid sent to Gaza and Lebanon, amounting to approximately 1,154 tons, and outlined future relief plans that include at least three additional tranches to Palestine. The conference reinforced the collective resolve to support the people of Gaza and Lebanon, with various stakeholders expressing their continued commitment to the humanitarian cause.
