NCOC expresses concern over growing number of COVID-19 cases

Islamabad, July 07, 2021 (PPI-OT):National Command and Operation Centre has expressed concern over growing number of COVID-19 cases in country and directed provinces to ensure strict implementation of coronavirus Standard Operating Procedures on the occasion of Eid ul Azha. The meeting was held in Islamabad with Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar in the chair while all the provincial chief secretaries attended it through video link. The meeting discussed the violations of the SOPs in different sectors. The Minister for Planning directed the provinces to ramp up their coronavirus vaccination drives.

Asad Umar said government is making arrangements to bring back Pakistanis stranded in Afghanistan. The NCOC also issued special instructions for Eidul Azha to ensure that the number of COVID-19 cases should not escalate. The forum also said the individuals who have been vaccinated, if tested positive for Covid-19, would be required to quarantine for 10 days.
