NC refutes Modi regime’s normalcy claims in IIOJK

New Delhi, March 16, 2022 (PPI-OT): Jammu and Kashmir National Conference has refuted the narrative of fake normalcy in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir peddled by Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government. The NC’s member of Indian Parliament, Hasnain Masoodi taking part in the discussions on the IIOJK Budget presented by Indian Finance Minister in the Parliament, said the spur in the killings of political activists doesn’t give credence to the Modi government’s normalcy claims.

He maintained that the decisions of August, 5, 2019 were marketed by the Modi regime on the fact that they would end the freedom movement in IIOJK. However, he said, the data coming from the government quarters itself doesn’t support such claims as there have been 500 armed encounters since the unconstitutional abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A, and in the previous two months only, the region witnessed 10-12 encounters. He said there have been 500 deaths as well and be it civilians or forces’ personnel, each life matters. He added that these figures don’t conform to the peace claims of New Delhi.

The budget, Masoodi said, is the fourth budget in a row which wasn’t passed by the elected legislature of IIOJK. He said, “The exercise itself raises a question why an entire populace of nearly 1.50 Cr people continues to remain without a representative Assembly”. He noted that the delimitation commission is another step towards disempowering the people of Jammu and Kashmir, adding that the panel’s recommendations are dismissive of geography.
