Mumbai, September 03, 2021 (PPI-OT):The 70- year-old human noted human rights activist and journalist Gautam Navlakha has sought to be transferred out of Taloja Central Prison to house arrest due to lack of basic medical and necessities in the prison. He will be taken to a hospital today for medical check-up.
He made the request in a petition filed with the Bombay High Court that later issued notice to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Maharashtra government for keeping him under house arrest pending trial in the Bhima Koregaon-Elgar Parishad caste violence case.
The court also directed the NIA that Gautam Navlakha be taken to a hospital for check-up and Maharashtra Government informed the bench that Navlakha would be taken to Tata Hospital at Kharghar today (Friday).
