Karachi, At the Course Commissioning Parade of the 120th Midshipmen and 28th Short Service Commission at the Pakistan Naval Academy in Karachi, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf stressed the importance of resolving the Kashmir dispute for peace and stability in South Asia.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Admiral Ashraf highlighted that the longstanding issue of Kashmir needs to be addressed in accordance with the aspirations of its people and the United Nations Security Council resolutions to achieve lasting peace in the region. He called on the international community to intervene in the cessation of human rights violations and atrocities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The Admiral also underscored the need to end the suffering in Gaza, condemning the indiscriminate use of force against Palestinian civilians as a severe violation of human rights. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to providing diplomatic, moral, and principled support to Palestinians and advocated for a just, comprehensive, and enduring solution to the Palestinian question, aligning with relevant UN resolutions.
Admiral Ashraf added that Pakistan is looking forward to a stable and secure Afghanistan, emphasizing the region’s need for peace and stability.
The commissioning ceremony was a significant event, with a contingent comprising 88 Midshipmen, including 60 from Pakistan, one from the Kingdom of Bahrain, and 27 from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Admiral Naveed Ashraf’s statements reflect Pakistan’s stance on key regional issues and the importance of resolving conflicts for regional stability and peace.
