Karachi: Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff of the Pakistan Navy, visited the PAF Air War College Institute in Karachi, marking a significant step in strengthening the inter-services collaboration between Pakistan’s naval and air forces. The visit underscored the importance of joint operational readiness and technological innovation in modern military strategy.
Admiral Ashraf was welcomed by Air Vice Marshal Rashid Habib, the President of the Air War College Institute. During his address to the participants of the Air War Course, Admiral Ashraf emphasized that operational preparedness is crucial for success in modern warfare. He pointed to recent developments along Pakistan’s eastern front as evidence of the need for constant readiness and strategic foresight.
The Naval Chief praised Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu for his leadership in modernizing the Pakistan Air Force and integrating advanced technologies that have enhanced operational readiness and deterrence in the region. Admiral Ashraf outlined the substantial enhancements in the Pakistan Navy’s combat capabilities, highlighting improvements across surface, sub-surface, and aerial domains.
Stressing the necessity of cohesive national defense, Admiral Ashraf announced the initiation of more frequent joint operational exercises with the Pakistan Air Force. These exercises are designed to reinforce the synergy and interoperability between the two services.
The Admiral also discussed the transformative role of technological innovation in contemporary conflicts. He announced a strategic collaboration between the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park and the Pakistan Maritime Science and Technology Park. This partnership aims to advance indigenous capabilities in unmanned systems, enhancing Pakistan’s technological self-reliance and operational effectiveness in the defense sector.
The PAF Air War College Institute, a prestigious institution within the Pakistan Air Force, prepares mid-level officers from Pakistan and allied countries for key command and staff roles. The course offers exposure to a wide range of subject matter experts, including civil and military professionals, diplomats, and scholars, ensuring a comprehensive and rigorous academic experience.
