National Conference to Propose Article 370 Resolution in IIOJK Assembly

Srinagar: The National Conference, led by Omar Abdullah, has announced its intention to introduce a resolution concerning Article 370 during the upcoming legislative session in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to Kashmir Media Service, Tanvir Sadiq, the Chief Spokesperson for the National Conference and MLA for Zadibal, described the August 2019 revocation of Article 370 by the BJP-led Indian government as unconstitutional. He affirmed the party’s resolve to counteract this measure.

Sadiq is hopeful that opposition parties will coalesce in support of the resolution. The legislative assembly session, called by IIOJK Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, is scheduled for November 4.

Furthermore, Sadiq discussed plans to reinstate the ‘Darbar Move’—a biannual tradition of relocating government offices between Srinagar and Jammu, which was halted under the direction of LG Manoj Sinha. This practice was initially established by the Dogra Maharajas.

In his address, Sadiq also reassured the residents of Jammu and Kashmir, promising that the National Conference would fulfill its commitments and criticizing the BJP for fostering division and communal unrest for political benefit. He emphasized the National Conference’s commitment to unity and inclusive representation.
