National Conference Accuses BJP of Undermining Indian Democracy

Jammu, The National Conference (NC) has launched a vehement critique against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of posing serious threats to the foundation of India’s democracy. The party claims that the BJP’s actions have compromised the integrity of democratic institutions and embraced authoritarian tendencies.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Ajay Sadhotra, the additional general secretary of the National Conference, articulated these concerns during a day-long convention in the Govindpur area of Satwari, Jammu city. He emphasized the BJP’s departure from democratic norms, portraying a grim picture of the political landscape under its governance.

The convention also featured speeches from other NC leaders, including Rattan Lal Gupta, the Provincial President, who voiced the growing discontent among the citizens of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He underscored the people’s yearning for a new political direction, suggesting the INDI Alliance as a beacon of hope for those disillusioned by the BJP’s administration.

Abdul Ghani Malik, Zonal President Reasi Udhampur and former Minister, emphasized the importance of reinforcing secular values. He accused the BJP of exploiting communal divisions for electoral benefits and advocated for the INDI Alliance as a means to restore the region’s pluralistic character.

The National Conference’s sharp criticism of the BJP underscores a broader apprehension about the erosion of democratic principles in India. With the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the INDI Alliance, which includes the NC among its members, positions itself as a formidable challenge to the BJP’s dominance in the region.
