Islamabad: The Young Parliamentarians Forum (YPF) of the National Assembly, led by President Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar, concluded a two-day workshop focused on post-legislative scrutiny to enhance evidence-based lawmaking. Attended by Members of the National Assembly and representatives from the Shaoor Foundation for Education & Awareness (SFEA), the event aimed to equip parliamentarians with the necessary skills to ensure effective implementation and oversight of enacted laws.
According to the National Assembly of Pakistan, the workshop was part of an initiative in line with Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq’s vision to strengthen parliamentary oversight. The event featured discussions on identifying legislative gaps, particularly in human rights legislation, and emphasized practical approaches to improve legislative oversight, led by parliamentary expert Zafarullah Khan. President YPF Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar, during the closing remarks, underscored the importance of institutionalizing post-legislative scrutiny to enhance democratic governance and improve public service delivery.
The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks and the distribution of certificates to participating parliamentarians, National Assembly Secretariat officers, and civil society representatives, recognizing their contributions to strengthening legislative effectiveness.
