Islamabad, February 27, 2023 (PPI-OT):The National Assembly Standing Committee on Narcotics Control met today at 2:30 PM in Committee Room of Ministry of Narcotics Control, Kohsar Block, Pak-Secretariat, Islamabad under the Chairmanship of Mr. Salahuddin Ayubi, MNA.

The meeting started with Recitation from Holy Quran. The Chairman welcomed the participants of the meeting. The Committee unanimously approved the minutes of previous meeting was held on 22nd February, 2022.

The Committee discuss/scrutinize the budgetary proposal of the ministry relating to Public Sector Development program (PSDP) for the budget 2023-24. After detailed discussion on the projects the Committee unanimously approved all the budgetary proposal of amounting Rs.293.562 million for new projects of the ministry relating to Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) for the Budget 2023-24.

ANF Director General (DG) briefed the Committee the ANF operations in and around the education institutions in the country. The DG requested the monitories and moral support is required from the national assembly standing Committee curb the menace of Narcotics in educational institutions.

The Committee emphasized that the drug test should be compulsory for any candidate applies for the admission in any educational intuitions. The Secretary Ministry of Narcotics Control briefed the committee on allocation of funds for purchase/acquisition of land for MATRC Qilla Abdullah at Chaman.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Rana Mubashir Iqbal, Mr. Mir Ghulam Ali Talpur, Ms. Aliya Kamran, MNAs and Seniors Officers from the Ministry Narcotics Control and its attached Departments were present in the meeting.
